Fried Radish Cake recipe

This is a Malaysian Hawker dish called “Kueh Kak”.

To steam the radish cake

1 radish (200gm clean and grated)
200gm wheat flour
500gm rice flour
¾ Tablespoon salt
½ Tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon white pepper
2 cups of hot water (not boiling)

Method: Mix all the above ingredients together with the hot water and steam for 40 minutes in a 20-cm stainless steel tray. Leave overnight before you cut the radish cakes into small cubes.

Ingredients to fry the radish cubes:

1 Tablespoon dark soya sauce
1 Tablespoon fish sauce
½ Tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tsp chilli paste
2 tsp sugar

4 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tsp garlic
50 gm Chinese chives
200 gm bean shoots
2 eggs (lightly beaten)

Heat up the frying pan till very hot and add oil. Add both garlic and the radish cubes stir for 15 seconds before adding the seasoning. Lastly, the beaten eggs, chives and bean shoots.
